Grass Roots Organics, LLC was founded in 2009 by Richard McEwing Jr. and Richard Mahon.  Mr. McEwing was born and raised in Philadelphia, before moving to Maryland where he gained much experience in the landscape and nursery industry.  He also gained experience from inside the chemical side of lawn care.  He recalls using elbow length rubber gloves to handle the products he was spraying on lawns and gardens.  Having gained knowledge and information about these products, as well as understanding the potential damage to our health and the earth, he was deterred into taking the natural approach to lawn and garden maintenance.

Mr. Mahon, was born in Scranton, PA.before moving to State College, PA and  graduating  from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in advertising and public relations. With a large interest in environmentally just causes, Mr. Mahon teamed up with Mr.McEwing to create one of the only truly organic lawn and garden maintenance companies in the South-Eastern Pennsylvania region.

Grass Roots Organics, LLC is headquartered in Modena, PA. It can be found in the MO-GREEN-A Foundry a facility that houses all "green" businesses. Located next to Grass Roots Organics, you will find Organic Mechanics Potting Soil and Waste Oil Recyclers.
